It’s been a while since I’ve done a makeup post, and as the summer has approached, I thought this would be the perfect time to. (You can see my few other makeup posts HERE).
What I’ve had on my mind (I guess you can say on my mouth) are bright lipsticks that give a great touch of color to any outfit – from work, dinner, dates, etc… from the laziest to the most dressed up outfit. I wouldn’t even begin to be able to explain how the older I get, the more I want to wear lipsticks! The colors I have here are all brands that you should be able to find at your local drugstores, Target, Ulta, or the such. I will say right off the bat that I’ve fallen deeply in love with the L’oreal Infallible lipstick line. If you’re looking for a super long lasting lipstick that keeps its rich color, look no further (and they’re not paying me to say this).
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter 010 Raspberry Pie – my sister Diana just gave me this as a gift, and I’m already loving it. It’s a nice sheer berry color like my other Lancome lipstick that broke. This may be the gateway into trying the other colors.
L’oreal Infallible 227 Eternal Rose – This has been my almost every day color now. I wear it to work most days, I put it on in the morning and it’s still on in the afternoon when I leave after hours of working, breakfast, lunch, etc. That is a winner in my book.
L’oreal Infallible 421 Charismatic Coral – And for those days that I don’t want to be as muted as the above color, I turn to this one. It has a hints of pink and orange that works with many of my work days and regular nights.
Revlon Super Lustrous 435 Love that Pink – I love this pink that can give a pink pout and if you really layer it on, it can look almost neon. Definitely not for work, but more for hanging out on the weekend .
L’oreal Infallible 714 Blazing Sangria – this may just be the most perfect name for a lipstick. The color is rich and a little dark. This is my date night go to color. And once the color settles on your lips, it won’t smear onto your significant others’ mouth :)
And how awesome are the L’oreal imprints on the lipsticks?
You don’t need to spend a small fortune to get a new lipstick – I like visiting Ulta where I can try on several colors. And now that I know a line I really like, it’s easier to pick a brand.
Are there any colors or brands of lipsticks that are on your radar for summer?
Ps. How do you like that the bangs I cut a month ago have already grown over my eyebrows?!
