Wedding style: sister style 2

20 Jun

I am going to admit, that after this initial post about what to wear to a wedding and this update to what I wore to the first wedding. What I wore to this second wedding, and what I had originally thought I’d be wearing to both, I completely guessed wrong. This is why it’s always good to have a few options and backups. It also felt good that I didn’t have to go out and buy a new dress. Diana and I flip-flopped on colors of the dresses from the previous wedding.

Diana kept it simple but colorful in her Alice and Olivia dress and Nine West strappy sandal heels.

The draping on this dress was beautiful

And I wore my Leifsdottir dress originally from Anthropologie but bought at Jeremy’s Dept. store in SF with my YSL heels from the Rose Bowl Flea (you really can find some amazing things there) . I decided to wear the dress with the straps tucked in though.

a Givenchy necklace I borrowed from my mom (it’s really long so I was able to layer it three times) and vintage stacking rings from the Alameda flea.

It’s nice to have these posts to be able to compare and contrast my sisters’ style with mine. And while our taste in dresses may be different, we both seem to love stacking rings and glittery nails. Mine are Sally Hansen salon effects nail strips :)

And if things work out for me, I may be attending yet another wedding in August. I got so much great feedback about these what to wear to weddings posts, and many of you shared your own compilations of what you do or would wear to weddings. Thank you :)

the anthro dress looks so gorgeous on you, and i love your sis’s glitter nails! (tell her to post a tutorial please!)
Both of you look so chic and were probably the best dressed guest there.

I love that your sister has a more girly style and you have a more edgy, tomboy style. Both looks are great for weddings! I love your necklace too, can I steal it next time I see you? :)

I’m seriously gonna have to “borrow” that necklace and bring it back to me to SF! I’ve also see lots of Givenchy jewelry at Nordstrom rack before too. Apparently it’s not “that” expensive?

OOh I love both looks, but I definitely have a thing for black. Gorgeous dress and teamed with such cute shoes! I love the color of the lipstick too!

It’s funny, I just saw your response to my comment to your other wedding blog post, but just before that I was thinking, Gosh what a great blog  post idea -ideas for wedding outfits, I’ve been going to a lot of those lately. Lately! We’re so grown up. It just dawned on me haha! Been following your blog for years, and it’s always fab, keep up the good work!

Both of y’all look beautiful. I love the hand accessories including both your nail polish and rings! You two definitely think alike.

I basically raid my sisters closet every time I visit, one of the best things about having a sister

You both look amazing. Are those the Lust-rous Sally strips or some name like that? I did that and really liked it.

You got it! It was the lustrous ones, they look really good on. Especially since I bought an Orly polish a little while ago which was basically the same concept but in a bottle and none of the big glitter pieces wanted to come out of the bottle!!

The both of you are looking gorgeous! My favourite will be the blue dress as black doesn’t suit me very well :)

Black doesn’t really suit me well either, but it just looked right for this day!

Both you are your sister look like knockouts! I rather like the idea of trying to make layers of really long necklaces. Will have to try that out.

PS I’m here via an older post on IFB that mention you :)
