The silvery details

So in a rush to get ready for a kids party, I had to change out of my original top and throw on a much lighter shirt before heading out, only to realize then that most of my outfit was from J.Crew (granted thrifted!). I think a lot of people out there hate those folks that get decked out in J.Crew and call it a day. Not how it works here at Thrift Eye, but thought it was interesting to do it for one day of my life I guess.

Do you ever find yourself in a head to toe outfit from one brand or store? This used to happen to me when I worked at Fornarina and had to wear their outfits for my shifts. I inevitably feel weird, because it sort of feels strange to limit yourself to one brand (this is also why I hate most editorials in fashion magazines now that just feature one brand per look).

Variety is the spice of life :)

      I just got them in the Zara sale! I really wanted to gold ones, but I settled for these pretty babies instead.

    I’ve done the exact same thing with thrifted UO items (well, one I bought in the store). And I have been in head to toe ModCloth before as well…totally unplanned.

      Where are you from? 

      I think there are a lot of bloggers out there are trashed for wearing head to toe JCrew (and Jcrew specifically because it’s an overpriced trendy brand) because it makes them look pretentious and show off-y.

    generally if it happens, it’s by mistake. but sometimes two things go so perfectly and you realize it’s just because they were cut from the same cloth. 

    Love the print mix, and hooray for second hand jcrew. I actually purchased stuff from the store for like the second time ever over the weekend… but everything else i own is straight from the thrift store.
