Click over to my archives at about a month ago and prior, and you’ll see that I’m a tomboy at heart. But I can’t resist getting dolled up once in a while. So as soon as I saw that our skies were blue instead of foggy, I wanted to wear this dress that I haven’t had a chance to wear in a really long time. Once outside, I swear the weather has it out for us here in San Francisco. If it isn’t foggy, it’s insanely windy. So don’t mind the windswept hair and Marilyn Monroe dress poses that are going on (good thing I always wear shorts under my dresses).
Sweater: Kate Spade thrifted. Dress: French Connection, French Connection outlet in Las Vegas. Shoes: Target. Watch and ring: vintage.
Speaking of this dress, I think it may be time to retire it. There is a very large wine spill on it from the first time I ever wore it (someone dropped a glass of wine on me, awesome huh). It doesn’t show in pictures, but I can always see it.
A cool little story, I’ve had this purple vintage ring for a few years now. I noticed after a while that it looked like it was a locket, but the locket part appeared to be sealed shut and no matter what I did, I couldn’t get it to open. I’m not sure what I did this day, but while wearing it, it opened up on its own and revealed a little picture of a man inside. I’m not sure what it is about it, but it made me sad, and it still makes me a little sad. I hope the owner of this ring and the man photographed had a long life together.
