Yves Saint Laurent style

In the last style post, I wore my trusty and amazingly comfortable Yves Saint Laurent wedges I’ve had for 6+ years now. When I got them, I was still living the student/full time worker budget lifestyle and paid what was a lot for me at the time (about $40 from Buffalo Exchange) when I was mainly only budgeting for thrifting and vintage. But these shoes have at least another 15 years or more of life in them, and I’m glad they’re mine! It follows a mantra I have reiterated many times on this blog and if you meet me in person – you can always be stylish on a budget AND buy quality things. I have learned my lesson many a times and will not fall fool again to buying cheap shoes – I’m too old for this blister, pinching, falling apart shoe thing.

You may notice that my wedges are slightly different than the ones you’d find to buy – after I purchased mine, I got a large chunk of the gummy heel stained, and no amount of cleaning would get it back to it’s former condition. So I got creative, and used craft paint to stain the whole wedge part. It actually made the shoes visually better (to me).

The shoes themselves pop-up on eBay often and for good/reasonable prices if you just look (you would pay the same, if not more for a cheaper pair of shoes). Find a pair HERE, HERE, and HERE.

A little more classy look with a blazer and tuxedo-style pants

A bright colored pair of jeans works well! (sadly, both top and bottoms went to wardrobe heaven after separate stain accidents)

Mixing it up here (as you’ll see, I went through a phase where I loved wearing these stirrup leggings)

My trench coat look!

Both the blazer and pants were made of soft cotton – I loved the softness of this outfit and how the wedges completed the look.

Hello curves! Back in the day, wow 5 years ago! This dress looks a little different on me now, but I’d like to revisit this outfit.

Another throwback look – but what can I say? I was living in Las Vegas. Different time, different lifestyle. I wouldn’t wear it now, but it worked then.

It’s fun to do these Remix posts – now that my blog is almost 9 years along, I have so many different posts to dig back through! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do 🙂

Those shoes are so amazingly cool – they look seriously perfect in every single one of these looks. You’ve got me wanting to do a remix post now!
