Since returning from Japan, I have actually had a different eye when thrifting – my attention immediately went to looking for natural fabrics that breathe, can be worn oversized, and drape rather than hugging curves. A very different aesthetic than what we’re used to seeing in the West and what I normally would wear.
And with that idea in mind, I then hit the thrifting jackpot recently- it must have been the same woman cleaning out her closet (which I always assume when I find similar taste items within the same visit). I was able to find some very beautiful linen type pieces to fit into my wardrobe seamlessly (ie they’ll be able to mix and match what I already wear in my closet). Plus, these new pieces fit into the San Francisco wardrobe – which forces you to wear layers that you can add or remove on call as the weather changes so frequently throughout the day and through neighborhoods! I leave my house in the morning freezing, and get to work in another neighborhood that has me sweating! PS. Excuse the wrinkles, they’re impossible to get out after sitting.
