Apron dress

Isn’t it funny how we can become SO sure of something like, say your own personal style? That you put yourself in a box that isn’t open anymore to let other things in? You tell yourself “that’s not something I would wear.” Until you do. I never thought something you could call “minimal” or “modern” really works for me. But what if we finally open that box and try letting something new in? (doesn’t just have to be in the sense of clothing either :) )

I found this apron dress while thrifting and really thought, I could never wear that. The wrap waist was so tiny, I was able to get the buttons closed, but it still didn’t fit. BUT, I just really saw myself wearing this! I took a risk, and brought it home – resolved to easily fix the button situation (just moved the buttons a bit over with some easy sewing.) And let me tell you, in the month I’ve had this thing, I’ve already worn it about four times. I LOVE it. It wasn’t me, but it now is me.
