Little Red Beret

I made a mistake a few years ago. I stupidly donated my red beret thinking I’d never wear one again. Why?! Don’t even ask me, I can’t remember. But here I am sitting years later, early this month kicking myself because I REALLY needed one again. I should know better than to get rid of wardrobe staples and basics…I’ll eventually want to wear them again.

Then I had to hunt for one all over again and was met with that magic situation where, when you want something, it’s impossible to find! But I was able to find my little hat and I’m a happy camper again. It came in handy for this bitter cold and rainy weather we’ve been having. Especially on days I know the rain and humidity will turn my hair into a big ball of frizz. It’s easy to put on a bright hat and feel more cheerful (even though this weather mixed with the current state of our nation is enough to make me want to stay at home forever!)

A quick hello

Will you hate me if I tell you this quick post has photos from a museum again?! It’s seriously addicting you guys!! It’s become my new favorite place to go and think…(besides the gym.) I have been taking my notebook and just sitting in a nook of the museum to write, not even observing the art. More so observing the people, which I love to do too! This post is a quick hello before I leave to LA for the holiday weekend. I have some more exciting outfits and photographs to share, but also a book giveaway!

This was my museum minimal outfit – with the luminous Richard Serra piece.

Bay watch: weekend wardrobe

I’m an opposite person, I love to dress up on weekends because I can be so casual on the weekdays sometimes. When I’m casual on the weekends, I feel like I’m on an alternate universe (which I’m realizing is called Earth, and I’M the alien!) My weekends have been full of exploring the Bay (farmers markets! craft shows! ice cream!) and visiting museums in between chilling at the park.

I was pretty bummed coming back from vacation because NYC seemed so alive. San Francisco has been weird lately in case you haven’t heard mentions of skyrocketing rents and the social issues that arise from it (like homelessness and drug use.) I feel very lucky and privileged to enjoy the things I get, I try to enjoy every minute of my life with gratitude! Well, that conversation took an odd turn. And so, here is my bizarro outfit where I fit in with everyone else! I’m loving my new little espadrilles, they walked me all over NYC too! Super comfy. So while this isn’t a typical outfit for me, I was running around all over the city and being casual was essential for the long trek I was on.

Oui! Non!

I love a good graphic tee, but have issues with most of them. I’m conflicted – anything that makes strange weirdos stare at my chest, naturally makes me super uncomfortable. So I’m very selective about the graphic tees I wear as to avoid said awkwardness. This cute and simple one came across my path while browsing for new Made in USA brands on Shopbop. I think┬áthe front is good, the back is even better!
