A vintage skirt

Being a collector of clothing (I’m going to start referring to myself as that from now on, heh) I tend to stow things away in one closet, then find them ages later having totally forgotten about them. And the urge to clean and organize comes in HUGE spurts for me. I’ll just go ahead and redo a whole area and clean it up so much, I don’t have to worry about it for months. And then…then in those things hidden, I find something that catches my eye.

Like this skirt, I bought it with the intentions to sell it, because it didn’t fit me. I knew I could find it a loving home in all its vintage glory. And by the time I rediscovered it, I’d gotten into such good shape from running that it fit ME! I love it so much right now.

Weekend casual gets more casual

I don’t know about you guys, but do you ever have moments when you put on an outfit and think you’re ready to go but then you have a second thought? I put this outfit on, felt good, I’d been wanting to wear these shoes for a while (they were a hand me down from my sister.) Took my photos, got my purse, was ready to head out the door but it just didn’t feel right right. I went back to my closet, changed my shoes, and found a light denim jacket – out came the camera again and this outfit felt SO much better!

Do you ever go back home and change like this?

Into the forest

My weekends spent in Golden Gate Park are my favorite weekends. Sometimes I hang out at one end near the Conservatory of Flowers, other times I make it all the way over to the windmill by the beach! But in between, there are so many lovely and beautiful things to do – and for free! SF residents can get into the Botanical Gardens at no cost, and sometimes I just go to read, other times I take a blanket and mini picnic and just rest. This park within the park helps escape the feeling that the city life is consuming you whole.

If you ever visit San Francisco, please do me a favor and visit something, anything in Golden Gate Park. Even better, most Sundays, a long stretch of the road that runs through the parkĀ is closed off to vehicular traffic, and you can ride your bike or walk through without worry about competing with cars!

My skirt

How did March get here so quickly? And how is it already half-way over?! I have been trying to force myself to go bare-legged when the sun is poking out – even when I know the fog will roll back in. Who cares if I have to change before the sun sets? My legs are in desperate need of some sun! (and I’ve been keeping an extra pair of tights balled up in my purse in case I really begin to freeze). I saw some photos of girls bare-legged in NY during Fashion Week. I don’t know how they do it (or why they do it?) If you can’t figure out how to dress weather appropriate for snow, then maybe this fashion thing isn’t for you?
