White denim for Spring

So I used to have a pair of white pants a loooong time ago. They were a thin cotton pair of pants that were cut in a jeans style; they were great for the summer! But eventually they got really dingy and I had to throw them away. I finally found a fantastic replacement pair that I will definitely be wearing all Spring and Summer long! We had a nice little week of sunshine so I took advantage of visiting my favorite ocean vista and wearing my sandals! My only worries now are spilling food on myself (or better yet, coffee!!). I guess it may be time to begin carrying a stain pen with me.

How are you feeling about this trendy white in your wardrobe? I keep seeing white shoes everywhere, but if I’m already worried about white jeans, I may not be able to handle keeping white shoes white!

Goodbye summer

I don’t think I’d be so sad that summer is officially gone if it weren’t for the fact that I got very little wear of my open toed shoes and sandals this year. I’m not one of those bloggers that’s going crazy for fall…I don’t like to be cold! I think it’s a side effect from having lived in the extreme Las Vegas weather.

Ever since my sister gave me this blouse, I’ve been trying to be more creative in how I wear it, and trying to not just wear it with jeans every time. So just as my previous post shows, I’m making the effort to wear skirts more. Now I’m just going to have to work tights into the mix.

Goodbye summer sandals…farewell summer… I’ve also finally hung up this painting, hello rearranged living room!

Amphigorey

My little guilty pleasures in life are the works of Edward Gorey, I was extremely delighted to have found this book in a bookstore the other day while on a walk back home. I don’t typically buy books because I get almost all of them I need at the library (that’s the awesome part about becoming a librarian), but I make exceptions for really special ones like this gem.

Amphigorey, a collection of 15 different Gorey books. Give me a rainy day, better yet, thunder and lightning and I’m ready to curl up with this book.

I love this penguin print dress, but I find the hem too tight and short as it is, so I think I may cut this into a top soon.

Edward Gorey

Just thinking about the book makes me so excited because I know Halloween is just around the corner!

Where did the summer go

When we have sunny days in San Francisco, we have great sunny days. Almost so beautiful that they make you have amnesia about how foggy and cold the rest of the year is (almost). Taking advantage of the sun with shorts and sandals. I don’t think I’ve worn that combination in San Francisco ever! I feel like I’ve made a full circle with shorts – I used to hate them as a teen, as I got a little bit older I learned to embrace them more, now I’m slowly starting to hate them again…for the time being, I’ll embrace the warm sun and dressing outside of my comfort zone.
